Signing the documents

To sign documents electronically, an electronic document must be prepared.

The user can add documents without an electronic signature. For the user to sign the attached documents in the portal, the "Sign" button must be pressed.

A signing menu window will open for the user with two options for signing documents:

eParaksts on a smartphone – a free digital tool (see eParaksts on the website https://www.eparaksts.lv/lv/ for more information);

eID card and eParaksts card: smart cards for providing proof of identity in a digital environment.

 

Signing documents online

When choosing to sign the attached documents with an eID card or an eSignature card, the user must confirm the certificate request by pressing the "Confirm" button.

In the next step, the user needs to enter the PIN2 code of the smart card and press the "Confirm" button.

To sign the document, the user needs to enter the PIN1 code of the smart card and press the "Confirm" button.Confirming the entry of PIN2 initiates eSignature validation and document signing. At this point, an informational notification will be displayed.

After successful validation of the electronic signature, the user will be returned to the application template section, where the application submission process can be continued.

Exceptionif the person who signed is not authorised to represent, then it will not be possible to complete the application submission process.

 

Cancelling the signing of documents

The user can cancel the signing of the document with an electronic signature at each step by pressing the "Cancel" button. After pressing the button, a modal window will open, in which the System will ask you to confirm or reject cancellation of the signing of the document.

•       By pressing the "No" button, the modal window will be closed, and the user will continue the document signing process;

•       By pressing the "Yes" button, the document signing session will be terminated and a notification about cancelling the document signing will be displayed. The user will be returned to the workplace in the application completion section.
